PISCATAWAY, NJ – Longtime Rutgers University assistant women’s tennis coach Ben Bucca was recently appointed to the newly formed United States Tennis Association (USTA) Collegiate Committee.

The committee, which includes 16 members from across the country, was developed to promote the growth of American collegiate tennis at the varsity level and to provide assistance as requested by the Pan for Growth Steering Committee on promoting recreational and intramural tennis activities on college campuses.

A native of central New Jersey, Bucca played tennis for St. Joseph’s of Metuchen prior to leading his team at Albright College. Bucca assumed the position of head coach at Middlesex County College during the 1980's prior to his stint as an assistant coach at Rutgers University.

An accomplished player in his own right, Bucca was a member of the ETA men’s 5.0 team that was a national finalist in 1988. Most recently, Ben has trained and competed as a triathlete. He is also a lawyer with the firm Bucca and Capisano.
