Khan, wrestling at 157, and Roy, competing at 174, ended action with identical 1-2 records.

Khan lost, 12-7, to NC State’s Scott Garren, but rebounded with an 11-9 win over Wyoming’s Andrew Shuler to close day one action. Roy fell to Ryan Lange, 7-2, in his first match, but rebounded with a 9-4 win over Oregon State’s Jake Huffman to advance past the first day. He then lost, 3-1, to Michigan’s Pat Owen.

Senior Ryan McGrath (Blairstown, NJ) and junior Greg Austin (Seaville, NJ) both dropped their first two matches. McGrath fell to Damian Hahn of Minnesota, 7-1, and Cornell’s Matt Greenburg, 6-2. Austin was pinned by WVU’s Billy Smith at the 1:35 mark and then took a medical forfeit in the consolation round.
