  • PISCATAWAY, N.J. (April 9, 2014) – The Rutgers wrestling team announced its 2014-15 Big Ten schedule Wednesday, unveiling the squad’s nine-dual conference slate in advance of its much anticipated move to the best wrestling league in the nation.

RU will wrestle its first dual as a member of the conference on Jan. 2, 2015, when the team welcomes Iowa, which finished fourth at the 2014 NCAA Championships in Oklahoma City from March 20-22. From there the Scarlet Knights will host national runner-up Minnesota on Jan. 11, take on four-time defending national champion Penn State on Jan. 16 and close the home season against the No. 6 team at nationals, Ohio State, on Feb. 1.

The locations for RU’s home matches next season will be announced at a later date

The Scarlet Knights’ road schedule will consist of trips to Illinois (Jan. 9), Maryland (Jan. 18), Nebraska (Jan. 25), Wisconsin (Feb. 6) and Northwestern (Feb. 8).

The Big Ten Championships will be held in Columbus, Ohio, from March 7-8, as a number of Scarlet Knights will vie for qualifying spots for the 2015 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, set for March 19-21 in St. Louis, Mo.

Ticket information for the 2014-15 Rutgers wrestling season is not yet available and is expected to be released at a later date as the season draws nearer. To be placed on the waiting list for wrestling season tickets please call 1-866-445-GORU (4678) or email us at tickets@scarletknights.com.

RU (11-5, 7-2 EIWA) enters its inaugural season in the Big Ten with 13 grapplers returning that earned dual starts in 2013-14, including a handful of highly anticipated redshirts and transfers expected to make key impacts next season. The squad achieved its first All-American this season – redshirt sophomore 157-pounder Anthony Perrotti (Roseland, N.J.) – since 2002 and first in head coach Scott Goodale’s tenure.
