Rutgers Wrestling Tabbed Finalist for Masterful Mission Award
Scarlet Knights one of six schools nominated for the award

  • PISCATAWAY, N.J. (July 25, 2013) –The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA), in coordination with Elite Level Sports Marketing (ELSM), selected the Rutgers wrestling team as one of six finalists for the 2012-13 Masterful Mission Best of Brand (BOB) Award, the organizations announced Wednesday.

    RU, along with Ithaca College, Iowa State, Duke, Missouri and UTC, will have a chance to win the award, which recognizes the program that branded itself most effectively via social networking sites during the 2012-13 wrestling season. The winner will be announced on Saturday, Aug. 3 at the NWCA Convention.

    The @RUWrestling handle grew significantly during the 2012-13 season, now possessing 2,985 followers. The squad also keeps fans informed via Facebook, sending out information to over 1,400 members.

    Head coach Scott Goodale was nominated for the ELSM and NWCA “Social Media of the Year” award for head coaches in May. The award was designed to honor the head coaches who established the strongest social media presences for the 2012-13 year.
