INDIANAPOLIS (February 23, 2012) – The NCAA has announced the qualifier allocations for the 2012 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, held inside the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, March 15-17. The Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association, the qualifying affiliation for the Rutgers wrestling team, received 46 total qualifier spots. The total is good for second-best in the nation behind the Big Ten Conference’s 74 spots.
Each qualifying tournament was awarded spots per weight class based on current year data. Each wrestler was measured on the following: Division I winning percentage; rating percentage index (RPI); and coaches ranking.
