April-27-07 Rutgers Wrestling Announces 2006-07 Award Winners
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers wrestling team announced its 2006-07 award winners at its banquet on April 17. Freshman Chris Norrell (Phillipsburg, N.J.) was the winner of the Wilfred E. Cann Most Inspirational Award, while sophomore Jack Barrett (Metuchen, N.J.) won the Nist Sachsel Award. The final award winner was junior Mike Whalen (Lake Hiawatha, N.J.) who was named the Ted Petty Most Valuable Wrestler.

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Rutgers wrestling team concluded its season at the 2007 Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) Championships on Saturday at Case Gym on the campus of East Stroudsburg University.

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Junior Mike Whalen (Lake Hiawatha, N.J.) will continue his pursuit towards a berth in the NCAA Championships at 174 pounds at the 2007 Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) Championships on Saturday, March 3. Whalen is the lone Scarlet Knight still alive in the tournament, as Rutgers sits 11th in the team standings with 19.5 points, with Columbia leading all squads with 112.5 points.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Rutgers University wrestling team fell in its last match of the season, 28-5, to Drexel on Thursday night at the Daskalakis Center.

February-10-07 Rutgers Wrestling Drops EIWA Contest at No. 24 Lehigh, 26-10
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Rutgers wrestling team lost to No. 24 Lehigh, 26-10, at Leeman-Turner Arena on Saturday. RU is now 10-5 overall, with a 5-3 mark in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA). Lehigh improves to 14-7 overall, 7-1 in EIWA competition.

February-07-07 Rutgers Wrestling Posts 10th Win of the Season With 25-15 Over Sacred Heart
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The Rutgers wrestling team won its 10th win of season with a 25-15 non-conference victory over Sacred Heart on Wednesday night at the College Avenue Gym. The 10-win season is the first for the Scarlet Knights since the 2003-04 campaign when RU finished the season 10-4. The Scarlet Knights are 10-4 on the season, including a 5-2 mark in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA).

February-04-07 Norrell, D’Amico Record Pins to Lead Rutgers to Win Over American
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Rutgers wrestling team scored bonus points in three matches, including pins from Chris Norrell and Mike D’Amico (Kenilworth, N.J.), to win an Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) match over American University, 19-18, on Sunday afternoon.
