July-30-04 Rutgers Wrestling Sets 2004-05 Schedule
PISCATAWAY, NJ – Coming off one of the best years in program history, the Rutgers wrestling team will once again compete against a top-notch schedule in 2004-2005. With three tournaments and 13 dual matches on its schedule, the team will face several of the top teams in the country, highlighted by a December 4 home match vs. Lehigh.

PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Rutgers University wrestling program is ranked 10th on the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) All-Academic list compiled at the end of the 2003-04 school year. As a team, the Scarlet Knights owned a 3.051 GPA for the school year while training and competing from the months of October through March.

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers University wrestling head coach John Sacchi has announced his 10-member recruiting class for the 2004-05 season. He welcomes six New Jersey standouts, along with two New York, one Connecticut and one Illinois scholastic product, in the fall.

April-16-04 Roy Takes MVP Honors At Rutgers Wrestling Awards Banquet
PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Rutgers University wrestling team held its annual awards banquet on Thursday night, April 15, at the Hale Center on the school’s Busch Campus. The team posted a10-4 record, placed fourth at the EIWA Championships – its highest finish more than 40 years – and sent three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships in St. Louis, MO.

March-19-04 Rutgers Trio Eliminated From NCAA Wrestling Championships
ST. LOUIS, MO - Juniors Andy Roy (Wall, NJ) and Rudy Medini (Colonia, NJ) and freshman Ramel Meekins (Westwood, NJ) each saw his run through the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships come to an end on Friday. All three advanced through the consolation brackets Thursday night and Friday afternoon, before losing their second match of the double-elimination tournament.

March-18-04 Roy, Medini and Meekins Still Alive After Opening Day At NCAA Championships
ST. LOUIS, MO – Juniors Andy Roy (Wall, NJ), Rudy Medini (Colonia, NJ) and freshman Ramel Meekins (Westwood, NJ) each lost in his opening match at the 2004 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships on Thursday. All three Scarlet Knights, however, remain alive in consolation action which will continue on Friday at the Savvis Center in St. Louis, MO.

March-07-04 Roy, Medini Lead Rutgers to Fourth-Place Finish at EIWA Championships
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Juniors Andy Roy (Wall, NJ) and Rudy Medini (Colonia, NJ) captured second-place in the 174-pound and 184-pound weight brackets respectively to lead Rutgers to a fourth-place finish in the centennial anniversary of the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) Championships on Sunday. Tournament officials honored Rutgers head coach John Sacchi the EIWA Coach of the Year, while awarding the Scarlet Knights the Team Sportsmanship trophy.
