| MILLERSVILLE, PA – The Rutgers University wrestling team traveled to the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Classic in Millersville, PA today without its full arsenal of competitors. Despite missing three top starters, and losing another one during action, the Scarlet Knights finished second at the 10-team tournament with 105.5 points, just four off the pace of Appalachian State. Rutgers enjoyed four first place and two second place finishes, competing without starters Marc Rosenfeld (Brick, NJ), Amir Khan (Voorhees, NJ) and Andy Roy (Wall, NJ), all of whom were nursing injuries. | |

| PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Rutgers wrestling team, led by a second-place finish from sophomore Chris Ressa (Andover, NJ) at 165 pounds, captured third place at the Wilkes Open to highlight a full weekend of competition for the Scarlet Knights. Competing for the first time since Dec. 7, the team sent its top three wrestlers to the prestigious Midlands Championships in Evanston, IL, while the remainder of the team competed at Wilkes. | |

| BETHLEHEM, PA - The Rutgers University wrestling team competed at the 22nd Annual Billy Sheridan Invitational on Saturday, hosted by Lehigh, and earned one victory in three dual matches. The Scarlet Knights opened the day with a 41-6 loss to No. 7 Lehigh, fell to Lock Haven 23-21 in its second match and closed the day with a 37-6 win over Slippery Rock. Rutgers is now 2-2 overall in dual matches, including a win over Indiana on November 30. | |

| NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – In its first match of the season, the Rutgers wrestling team rallied to a 19-17 victory Indiana, marking Rutgers’ first ever win over a Big Ten foe. Facing a 7-0 deficit, Rutgers won the next four matches in gaining a 16-7 lead. Greg Austin (Seaville, NJ) led the rally with a 14-1 victory at 149 pounds. Amir Khan (Voorhees, NJ) followed that with a first period pin of IU’s Steve Amy, and the Knights never looked back. | |

| ANNAPOLIS, MD – Senior Ryan McGrath (Columbia, NJ) cruised through the 197-pound weight bracket with four-straight wins, securing a first place finish, to lead the Rutgers University wrestling team to a fifth-place team finish at the 2002 Navy Classic. McGrath received support from junior Greg Austin (Seaville, NJ) and senior Frank Sabatino (Hazlet, NJ), who took third at 149 and 285, respectively. | |

| PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers University assistant wrestling coaches Steve Cassidy and Darren Schulman will run a free clinic for all high school wrestlers and coaches prior to the Scarlet Knights’ home opener with Indiana on Saturday, November 30. The clinic will run from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and precede RU’s dual match with the Indiana Hoosiers at 7:00 p.m. Both events will take place at the College Avenue Gymnasium. | |
