Rutgers Wrestling Announces 2008-09 Schedule |
| NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The Rutgers University wrestling team released its 2008-09 schedule, second-year head coach Scott Goodale announced. The team looks to build on an impressive 2007-08 campaign that saw two wrestlers compete in the NCAA Wrestling Championships for the first time since 2004-05. In 2008-09, the Scarlet Knights will compete against 18 schools that sent wrestlers to the NCAA Wrestling Championships, including five teams that finished among the top 30. |

| ITHACA, N.Y. – Former Rutgers wrestling head coach John Sacchi was elected to the Ithaca College Athletic Hall of Fame, the school announced Monday. Sacchi, an Ithaca, N.Y. native who graduated from Ithaca in 1966, will be inducted on Sept. 20, along with seven others, as part of Ithaca's Homecoming Weekend. |

Rutgers Hosts Wrestling Camps at College Avenue Gym |
| NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Second year head coach Scott Goodale and Rutgers wrestling open the doors of the College Avenue Gym from July 13-17 for a Team-Competition camp, as wrestlers will come from all over the country to participate. Each wrestler will compete in over 20 matches against top competition. |

| PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers incoming freshman Trevor Melde (Wayne, N.J.) will wrestle in the Canada Cup, set to take place between June 24 and June 29 in Guelph, Ontario. Melde, a 141/149 pounder from DePaul Catholic High School in Wayne, N.J., finished second at 140 in the NJSIAA Championships. InterMat ranks him as the No. 17 overall recruit in the country. |

Rutgers Wrestling to Host Golf Outing on Friday, Aug. 1 |
| PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers wrestling team will host a golf outing at the RU Golf Course on Friday, August 1. The event will benefit the program and give fans the opportunity to meet head coach Scott Goodale and many of the wrestling letterwinners who have been a part of the program's rich history. |

| PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers wrestling's 2008-09 recruiting class has been ranked No. 3 in the country by W.I.N. Magazine. Under the guidance of first-year head coach Scott Goodale, RU finished behind Minnesota and Central Michigan in the rankings. In October of 2007, Goodale's recruiting class was ranked No. 10 by W.I.N. |

Rutgers Wrestling 2007-08 Season Review |
| PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Under the guidance of first-year head coach Scott Goodale, the Rutgers wrestling team vastly improved throughout the 2007-08 season. After struggling early in the fall, the Scarlet Knights won seven of their last nine matches of the season and were able to send two wrestlers to the NCAA Championships. |
