Women's Volleyball Defeats Furman at Outback Invitational
BUSH REGISTERS GAME-HIGH 18 KILLS
ATHENS, GA – The Rutgers volleyball team (6-5) opened play at the Outback Invitational in Athens, GA, with a 3-0 victory over Furman. Game scores were 30-28, 30-19 and 30-14.
Shayla Bush (Spokane, WA) led the way for Rutgers with a game-high 18 kills and 10 digs. Dawn Christjaener (Huntington Beach, CA) added 10 kills for the Scarlet Knights. Abbey Martin (Topeka, KS) had 39 assists. The win was Rutgers’ sixth in the last eight matches.
The Scarlet Knights will return to the court on Saturday, Sept. 20, to face Florida A&M at 11:00 a.m. and host Georgia at 7:00 p.m. in their final two matches of the tournament.
