  • PISCATAWAY, NJ – Peter Letourneau has been hired as an assistant coach, Rutgers volleyball head coach Ann Leonard-House has announced.

Letourneau most recently served as head women’s volleyball coach at Division III Villa Julie College in Stevenson, MD (2001-03). While at Villa Julie College, he controlled all aspects of the program, including recruiting, fundraising, marketing and day to day operations. Letourneau was also the head coach of the Team Force Junior Olympic Volleyball Club (2000-02).

“Peter brings to us a wealth of volleyball knowledge,” said Leonard-House. “We are looking forward to having him with us.”

Letourneau gained valuable experience during his years as a player. During his six-year stint with the U.S. Air Force, Letourneau was selected to the All-Services Volleyball Team and the All-Air Force Team (1994-95). He also played on the Florida Pro-Beach Volleyball Tour (1990-92). Letourneau began his playing career at Division II East Stroudsburg University in 1989.

“I am really excited to have the opportunity to work with Rutgers Volleyball”, said Letourneau. “I hope to bring my strengths to the team and assist with the team's development and success. I am looking forward to working with Coach Leonard-House and learning, from the inside, how a well-run volleyball program functions daily.”

Letourneau graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sports management and a minor in business administration from Towson University in 2002. He holds a Program Level I coaching accreditation from USA Volleyball.
