Rutgers was led by junior Shayla Bush (Spokane, WA), who recorded a career-high 36 digs in the match, shattering her previous best of 29. She also added 22 kills at a .304 hitting percentage to record her 17th double-double of the season.
Senior co-captain Pualani Tuyay (San Diego, CA) contributed 50 assists, 15 digs and seven kills in the match, while senior Lauren Venarchik (West Chester, PA) tallied 14 kills. Sophomore Addie Thiry (Louisville, KY) recorded six total blocks (one solo, five assists) in the match, while adding eight kills.
UConn was led by Melissa Wooley’s 18 kills and 15 digs, while Stephanie Ziemann posted 34 digs.
Rutgers concludes the regular season next weekend with two home matches at the College Avenue Gym. The Scarlet Knights will face Georgetown on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m., followed by a match against Villanova on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m.
