  • CHESTNUT HILL, MA – Shayla Bush (Spokane, WA) and Lauren Venarchik (West Chester, PA) combined for 27 kills to lead the Rutgers women’s volleyball team to a four-game victory over Boston College tonight at Power Gym. After dropping the opening game, 30-19, the Scarlet Knights rebounded to win back-to-back tight games (30-28; 31-29) before polishing off the Eagles, 30-15, in the fourth and final game. BC led, 27-23, but Rutgers rattled off a 5-1 run to tie it at 28-28 en route to a 30-28 win. In the third game, the two teams were deadlocked at 21-21 and Boston College reached 29 points before Rutgers won the next three points for a 31-29 victory, which carried over into the fourth game.

Rutgers posted 20 blocks and limited BC to a .109 hitting percentage, including a -.186 mark in the final game. Addie Thiry (Louisville, KY) led the team with 13 blocks, while Pualani Tuyay (San Diego, CA) once again led the team with 48 assists.

Rutgers, which has now won two in a row, returns to action on Sunday, when it travels to Providence College to face the Friars in another conference matchup.
