PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Dec. 18, 2012) – The Rutgers Volleyball program has launched a fundraising campaign to renovate its locker room that will give the coaches and student-athletes a better experience and help with recruiting efforts.
The goal of R Volleyball Locker Room Campaign is $65,000. Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, the program has received a challenge gift of $32,500. If the program receives $32,500 in commitments from our alumni, parents and friends by June 30, 2013, our anonymous donor will match the gifts to complete the renovation project.
“We’re excited about starting the locker room campaign,” said head volleyball coach CJ Werneke. “We need the support of alumni and friends of the program. We’re off to a great start with an anonymous challenge gift of $32,500 and if you get behind this, you will be happy with the end result.”
The proposed renovations will include an expanded locker room with new state-of-the-art lockers, a fresh coat of paint, a “Block R” branded carpet, improved lighting, a drop ceiling and more.
There are many ways you can lend support and help the program obtain the matching gift – one of the most impactful opportunities is by naming a locker. You can do so by making a pledge of $5,000 over a period of five years. Each named locker will contain a personalized plaque in recognition of the gift and the donor’s name will appear on a donor wall just outside the locker room.
Gifts and pledges may be made in the form of check, credit card, matching gifts, gifts of stock and payroll deduction. All donations will be used for the renovation.
