PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Oct. 17, 2012) – The Rutgers women’s volleyball team raised $1,000 dollars in its “Dig Pink” match against Marquette on Oct. 14. This was the most money the squad has raised for the initiative, surpassing the $731 it accumulated the last time the team held a “Dig Pink” match in 2009.
The Scarlet Knights hosted the match to raise awareness and help in the fight against breast cancer. The volleyball program expressed its gratitude for all of the fans that attended and donated both at the contest and online.
All proceeds went to the Side-Out Foundation, which offers practical support for fundraising and collaborates with teams nationwide to gather donations and fund research to help find a cure and fight breast cancer.
