PRINCETON, N.J. – The Rutgers women’s track and field team traveled down to Princeton, N.J. to compete at the Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18.

"We had some very good performances and we also had some people that didn't perform as we had anticipated,” said head coach James Robinson. “Consistency is a necessary element to all successful teams and we have to work on being consistent from competition to competition. We'll turn our sights towards competing at the prestigious Penn Relays.”

Natalie Clickett (Union City, Pa.) had back-to-back third-place finishes in the shot put and discus. The junior recorded a mark of 13.70 meters in the shot put and a mark of 44.05 meters in the discus. In both events, Clickett achieved BIG EAST and ECAC qualifying standards.

The Scarlet Knights claimed another third-place showing in the 4x100-meter relay. The squad consisting of sophomore Courtney Sample (Mclean, Va.), freshman Zainab Bisiolu (Union, N.J.), junior Avonie Parchment (Apopka, Fla.), and senior Bryanna Johnson (Jackson, N.J.) ran a BIG EAST qualifying time of 48.44.

Sophomore Jamie Walker (Lawnside, N.J.) shined in the field, securing another third-place finish for RU in the long jump. Walker posted a leap of 5.66 meters, a BIG EAST qualifier.

Continuing the teams’ top performances was senior Jessica Bandy (West Keansburg, N.J.) in the javelin. Bandy recorded a BIG EAST and ECAC qualifying mark of 40.65 meters.

The women’s track and field team will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to compete at the Penn Relays on Thursday, April 23 through Saturday, April 25.
