Rutgers Women’s 4x200 Relay Sets School Record

RALEIGH, N.C.  – The Rutgers women’s track and field team competed at the Reebok Raleigh Relays on the campus of NC State in Raleigh, N.C. on Saturday, March 28.

The women’s 4x200 meter relay set the school record, running a time of 1:37.82. The squad consisted of junior Pavielli Vega (Orlando, Fla.), sophomore Jamie Walker (Lawnside, N.J.), junior Michelle Gomes (Orlando, Fla.), and freshman Brittini Rodriguez (East Brunswick, N.J.). RU placed third overall and also qualified the relay team for the BIG EAST and the ECAC Championships.

In the 4x800 meter relay another third place finish was achieved by RU. The Scarlet Knights ran a final time of 9:01.55, automatically qualifying the relay of junior Erin Berg (North Wales, Pa.), senior Cheyenne Ogletree (Garfield, N.J.), and juniors Brittnee Bynoe (Williamstown, N.J.), and Lesney Elgin (West Orange, N.J.) for BIG EAST as well as the ECAC Championships.

The Scarlet Knights will be back in action Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4 in Princeton, N.J. to compete at the Sam Howell Invitational.  RESULTS
