RALEIGH, N.C. – The Rutgers women’s track and field team traveled to N.C. State in Raleigh, N.C. on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28 to compete in the Raleigh Relays at the Paul Derr Track Stadium.

Scarlet Knight junior Michelle Gomes (Orlando, Fla.) earned a BIG EAST qualifying time of 12.13 in the 100 meter dash placing ninth. Classmate Pavielli Vega (Orlando, Fla.) also qualified for the postseason meet, running a time of 57.10 in the 400-meter dash, taking 18th overall.

Rutgers placed seventh in the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay with a time of 4:06.19. RU also finished seventh in the 4x1500-meter relay in 19:13.28.

The Rutgers women’s track and field team will continue competition on Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4 at the Sam Howell Invitational in Princeton, N.J.
