BOSTON, MA - The women’s track team completed its first day of competition at the ECAC Championships in Boston, MA. Members of the team excelled in five events, earning times that qualify them to compete in tomorrow’s finals.

Shameka Marshall (Mizpah, NJ) placed seventh in the long jump with a mark of
19’5 ½”. Marshall also reached the finals in the 60-meter hurdles after her time of 8.54, a personal best.

Dominique Sanon (Bridgeport, CT) finished the 500-meter in 1:13.81 to reach the finals, while Amonica Phipps (San Diego, CA) had a time of 2:11.91 to reach the finals in the 800-meter. Amina Zohny (Maplewood, NJ) finished the 1000-meter in 2:54.20 to advance to the finals.

The two-mile relay team finished the event in 8:56.90 to reach tomorrow’s finals, the leading time of the day. Belmax DeJesus (Fort Lee, NJ) finished the first leg in 2:16.9, Julie Clifford (Haworth, NJ) finished her leg of the race in 2:12.2, Phipps ran the third leg in 2:13.5 and Erin Johnson (Morganville, NJ) anchored the race in 2:09.8.

The finals will take place tomorrow at 1 p.m. in Boston, MA.
