PISACATAWAY, N.J. (May 18, 2014) – Rutgers junior Gabrielle Farquharson (Williamstown, N.J.) placed third and set a new RU record in the 200m and senior Ekene Ugboaja (Edison, N.J.) took sixth in the 400m to wrap up women’s track and field action at the ECAC Championships.
Farquharson, who set a school record in the preliminaries of the 200m on Saturday, reset the RU record again with her third place finals performance. The junior Scarlet Knights took .07 seconds off her prelim time to set a new benchmark of 23.62 in the event.
Ugboaja also ran in Sunday’s finals as she logged a time of 54.64 in the running of the 400m.
Rutgers women’s track and field will return to action at the NCAA East Regionals on May 29 and May 30 in Jacksonville, Fla.
