PISACATAWAY, N.J. (May 17, 2014) –  Rutgers junior Gabrielle Farquharson (Williamstown, N.J.) took third in the long jump and qualified for the finals of the 200m to highlight Saturday’s action at the ECAC Championships.

Farquharson, the American Athletic Conference champion in the long jump, leaped to a distance of 6.07m (19’ 11”) and was just .02m short of first place.

The junior was also one of two Scarlet Knights to advance to finals racing on Sunday.  Farquharson took third in the preliminaries of the 200m with a new personal best and school record of 23.69.  She bested the previous mark of 23.70 set by Michelle Gomes at the 2010 BIG EAST Championships.  Meanwhile senior Ekene Ugboaja (Edison, N.J.) will race in the finals of the 400m after taking third in the preliminaries in a time of 54.75.
