PISCATAWAY, N.J. (December 5, 2012) – The Rutgers men’s and women’s track and field teams open the 2012-13 indoor season on Sunday, December 9, when the Scarlet Knights travel to Princeton University to compete in the New Year’s Invitational. The event, held in Jadwin Gym, is the first of the season for both teams, as both look to secure early qualifying marks.
The day will kick off at 11:00 a.m. with the field events, which will include men’s and women’s shot put, long jump, triple jump, high jump and pole vault. From there, competition will move to the track and close with the final relay heats at 4:00 p.m. FULL SCHEDULE OF EVENTS.
On the men’s side, RU will face off against TNT International, TCNJ, Stevens Institute, St. Joseph’s (Pa.), Shore AC, Princeton, Monmouth, Lafayette, Johns Hopkins, Holy Family, Greater Philadelphia Track Club, Delaware State and Apex Vaulting.
In the women’s events, competition will include Bryn Mawr, Coppin State, Delaware State, Falls Road, Force Fields Track, Georgian Court, Holy Family, Johns Hopkins, Lafayette, Monmouth, Princeton, Shore AC, St. Joseph’s (Pa.), Stevens Institute, TCNJ and Towson.
