PRINCETON, N.J. — (October 15, 2012) – The Rutgers women’s track and field team released its 2012-13 schedule, the program announced. The Scarlet Knights begin their season at the New Year’s Invitational on Sat., Dec. 8 in Princeton before returning home a month later for the Rutgers Invitational from Jan. 4-5.

RU will compete in the Metropolitan Championships on Jan. 24-25 in the Bronx, N.Y., where the team earned a third-place finish last season. The team will travel to Geneva, Ohio from Feb. 16-17 to compete in the BIG EAST Championships before competing in the ECAC Championships from March 1-3 in Boston, Mass.

The Scarlet Knights closed last indoor season by finishing 13th at the BIG EAST Championships and fifth at the ECAC Championships.

The team will kick off the outdoor season in Tampa, Fla., on Friday, March 15 at the Bulls Invitational. RU will follow that meet with seven invitational events in as many weeks before returning to host the BIG EAST Championships from May 3-5 at the Bauer Track and Field Complex. The Scarlet Knights compete in the ECAC Championships the following week in Princeton, N.J.

RU finished 10th at the BIG EAST Championships and 17th at the ECAC Championships last season.
