PRINCETON, NJ - The Rutgers University women's track and field team opened its 2005-06 indoor slate as one of several schools to compete at the New Year's Invitational at the Jadwin Gymnasium in Princeton, NJ on Saturday, Dec. 10.

CARSON, CA – Seniors Shameka Marshall (Mizpah, NJ) and Sam Segond (East Stroudsburg, PA), the 2005 Mondo Mid-Atlantic District Athletes of the Year, competed at the 2005 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA.

June-09-05 Allen, Marshall Advance to NCAA Long Jump Championships
SACRAMENTO, CA – Seniors Marquis Allen (Mays Landing, NJ) and Shameka Marshall (Mispah, NJ) each advanced to the finals of the long jump competition at the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex in Sacramento, CA.

June-06-05 Robinson Named East Region Assistant Coach of the Year
PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers women’s assistant track and field coach James Robinson was named the 2005 East Region Sprints/Hurdles Assistant Coach of the Year, it was announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

May-28-05 Marshall Sets School Record in 100M Hurdles to Advance to NCAA Championships
RANDALL’S ISLAND, NY – The Rutgers University men’s and women’s track and field teams completed competition at the 2005 NCAA East Regional Championships on Saturday, May, 28. Senior Shameka Marshall (Mispah, NJ) took third in the finals of the 100m hurdles, posting a school record time of 13.30. This marked the second time this season that Marshall set the Rutgers record in the 100 meter hurdles, as she eclipsed her previous best of 13.36, set on May 7, at the 2005 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships.

May-27-05 Marshall, Segond and Allen Advance to 2005 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships
RANDALL’S ISLAND, NY – Seniors Shameka Marshall (Mispah, NJ), Sam Segond (East Stroudsburg, PA) and junior Marquis Allen (Mays Landing, NJ) will represent the Rutgers University men’s and women’s track and field teams at the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Championships on Wednesday, June 8 through Saturday, June 11 at the Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex in Sacramento, CA.
