Sophomore David Klics (Lincoln Park, NJ) missed the title in the 110-meter hurdles by 11-tenths of a second, placing second overall with an NCAA regional qualifying time of 14.06 seconds. Klics also captured fifth place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.43.
Junior Luis Tomlinson (Willingboro, NJ) finished the 400-meter dash in an IC4A qualifying time of 47.57 to take fifth place.
The 4X400-meter relay team of Klics, Tomlinson and freshmen Ryan Westman (Bala Cynwyd, PA) and Anthony Gallo (Wall, NJ) finished fifth with a time of 3:12.29, qualifying for IC4As.
Placing fourth was the 4X800-meter relay team of freshman Tom Morley (Haddon Twp. NJ), senior Carlos Iglesia (Old Bridge, NJ), sophomore Mike Redden (South Orange, NJ) and junior Xavier Mendez (Portage, India), Their time of 7:30.70 earned qualify spots in the IC4A Championships.
Freshman Rowan Clarke (Teaneck, NJ) earned two additional points for the Scarlet Knights, placing seventh in the triple jump with a performance of 48-1.25 inches to qualify for IC4As.
Rutgers had two performers finish in the top five of the javelin throw competition as sophomore Brian Lee (Mt. Laurel, NJ) (203-08) and junior Chris Francisco (Broomfield, NJ) (201-00) finished fourth and fifth respectively. Both qualified for NCAA Regionals.
Rutgers will next compete at the IC4A Championships, Friday-Sunday, May 23-25, in Princeton, NJ.
