RALEIGH, NC - Members of the Rutgers men’s and women’s track teams participated in the final day of the 2003 adidas Raleigh Relays on Saturday at Derr Track.
Junior Erin Johnson (Morganville, NJ) placed sixth in the 800-meters on Saturday with a time of 2:12.29. Sophomore Amonica Phipps (San Diego, CA) ran the event in 2:13.14 to finish ninth.
Sophomore Shameka Marshall (Mizpah, NJ) placed eighth in the 100-meter hurdles after registering a time of 14.46.
The women’s 4X800-meter relay team placed eighth with a time of 9:11.85, while the 4X200-meter relay team finished 20th with a time of 1:42.38.
In the pole vault competition, senior Marsha Day (Leonardtown, MD) placed 27th with a performance of 10’6 ¼”. The javelin competition saw junior Jennifer Austin (Garfield, NJ) turn in a performance of 47.41 meters to place sixth for the Scarlet Knights.
Junior Jamie Kerstetter (Monroe, NJ) finished 24th with a time of 4:47.51 in the 1500-meters.
The men’s 4X100-meter relay team finished 30th with a time of 42.78, while the 4X100-meter relay team registered a time of 1:31.74 to place 28th.
Sophomore Brian Lee (Mt. Laurel, NJ) placed 13th in the javelin throw with a 54.96-meter performance on Saturday.
The women will be back in action next Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6, at the
Sam Howell Invitational in Princeton, NJ, while the men return to the track
next Friday and Saturday, April 4-5, at the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg,
VA.
