PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Rutgers men’s track and field team wrapped up competition at the 110th running of Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, PA, on April 24.
In the IC4A 4x400 meter relay championship, the team of freshman Rob Waters (Bellmawr, NJ), junior Trevor O’Grady (Wood Ridge, NJ), sophomore Marcel Coleman (Harrisburg, PA) and sophomore Ryan Westman (Bala Cynwyd, PA) finished first with a time of 3:13.72.
The trio of senior Christian Francisco (Bloomfield, NJ), junior Brian Lee (Mt. Laurel, NJ) and freshman Ian Menewisch (Laurel Springs, NJ) competed in the javelin, with Francisco taking third (63.80m), Lee finishing 11th (58.50m) and Menewisch coming in 13th (57.94m). Sophomore Rowan Clarke (Teaneck, NJ) finished 10th (13.55m) in the college men’s Eastern triple jump competition.
The 4x800 team of sophomore Tom Morley (Haddon Township, NJ), junior Mike Redden (South Orange, NJ), senior Xavier Mendez (Portage, IN) and senior Brian Stanziano (Barnegat, NJ) took 14th (7:41.00) in the Championship of America race.
The Scarlet Knights will return to the track next weekend when they host the BIG EAST Championships at the Bauer Track and Field Complex Friday, April 30, through Sunday, May 2.
