BOSTON, MA - The Rutgers men’s track team scored 30 points to tie for sixth place at the 83rd IC4A Indoor Track and Field Championship at the Boston University Track and Field Pavilion in Boston, MA, on March 7.
RU’s 30 points tied it for sixth with Pennsylvania. Manhattan won the overall title with 60 points, while Connecticut was close behind with 55 points.
In the 55-meter dash, Marcel Coleman (Harrisburg, PA) ran a 6.51 to finish in sixth place. Sophomore Ryan Westman (Bala Cynwyd, PA) was third overall in the 500 meter run (1:02.00) while teammate David Klics (Lincoln Park, NJ) finished third in the 55 meter hurdles (7.41).
In the 4x800 relay, Rutgers finished in ninth place (7:43.21) after earning a third place finish in the preliminaries (7:31.10).
In the field events, junior Anthony Butler (Pittsgove, NJ) was second in the high jump (6-11.5) and Marquis Allen (Mays Landing, NJ) was eighth in the long jump (23-5.25). Junior All-American Sam Segond (East Stroudsburg, PA) finished seventh in the shot put (55-2.75).
Junior Greg Ostrowicki (Howell, NJ) and Klics were both place winners in the pentathlon, as Ostrowicki finished with 4,940 points (sixth place) and Klics had 4,917 points (eighth place).
