PISCATAWAY, N.J. (April 28, 2014) – Redshirt junior Corey Crawford (Oakland, N.J.) picked up another weekly honor from the American Athletic Conference on Tuesday as the Scarlet Knight long jumper earned his second Field Athlete of the Week honor in the last three weeks.
Crawford claimed the long jump title at the 120th edition of the Penn Relays with a mark of 7.90m (25’11”), setting a new Rutgers record. Additionally, his leap is the best in the conference to date this season, while also placing him as the fourth best nationally.
It was the second time this outdoor season Crawford has reset the RU benchmark. He previously reached 7.80m (25’ 7 ¼”) at the Spec Towns Invitational at the University of Georgia back on April 15.
The Rutgers men’s track and field team returns to action later this week at the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by USF in Tampa, Fla.
