    PRINCETON QUAD RESULTS

    ATHENS, Ga. (April 12, 2014) – The Rutgers men’s track and field team spilt the squad with the Scarlet Knights’ 4x400 relay team and long jumper redshirt junior Corey Crawford (Oakland, N.J.) bringing home titles from the Spec Towns Invitational, while also capturing an IC4A qualifying mark at the Princeton Quad Meet.

    At the Spec Towns Invitational hosted by the University of Georgia, Rutgers earned a total of nine IC4A qualifying marks.

    Crawford led the way with his best outdoor mark of his career and new school record in the long jump at 7.80m.  His distance is currently tied for fourth nationally and puts his name third in the East Region.  Crawford surpassed his previous best outdoor mark of 7.61m from the 2012 USF Bulls Invite and the former RU bench mark of 7.70m set by Marquis Allen at the 2005 IC4As.

    The redshirt junior was also a part of RU’s first place 4x400 relay team.  Crawford joined sophomore Rajee Dunbar (Arlington, Va.), freshman Jermaine Griffith (Hamilton, N.J.) and junior D’Andre Jordan (Brooklyn, N.Y.) in racing to an IC4A qualifying time of 3:10.36.

    The Scarlet Knights’ 4x100 relay team also had an IC4A qualifying time as Emeka Eze, Jordan, Dunbar and Crawford clocked in at 41.21.

    RU also earned IC4A marks in the 100m and 300m.  Dunbar made his debut in the 100m, taking eighth in 10.70.   Griffith meanwhile crossed the finished line in 47.39 in the 400m for fourth place.

    In the field, in addition to Crawford’s long jump, the Scarlet Knights brought home four additional IC4A marks.  Senior Chris Wyckoff (Toms River, N.J.)reached a height of 5.10m in the pole vault, freshman Bryan Pearson (Mount Bethel, Pa.) threw for 47.75m in the discus for eighth, while sophomore Thomas Carr (Voorhees, N.J.) was the runner-up in the javelin at 66.44m and freshman Matthew Krezmer (Montoursville, Pa.) placed fifth in the event at a distance of 62.35m.

    Rutgers also garnered a IC4A marks at the Princeton Quad Meet with freshman Sam Habib (Old Bridge, N.J.) taking third in the 3000m in a time of 8:43.14.

    The Rutgers men’s track and field team returns to action at the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton on April 18-19.
