Albuquerque, N.M. (March 13, 2014) – Rutgers redshirt junior Corey Crawford (Oakland, N.J.), currently the top-ranked NCAA Division I long jumper, will go after the NCAA indoor long jump title on Friday, March 14 at 8 p.m. (ET) at the Albuquerque Convention Center in New Mexico.
The NCAA Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championships will be streamed live on ESPN3 on Friday starting at 7:55 p.m. (ET) and a tape delay of the championship will air on Saturday, March 22nd on ESPNU at 6:30 p.m.
Joining Crawford in the field will be a pair of former champions with defending champion Marquis Dendy of Florida and Kendall Spencer of New Mexico also competing for the title.
Crawford has been named the Mid-Atlantic Field Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) and the American Athletic Conference Field Indoor Performer of the Year for his long jumps this season. At the conference championships, he reached a distance of 8.22m (26’11.75”), a mark that not only tops the NCAA charts this season, but is currently tied for fifth in the world and tied for the best among all American jumpers this indoor season.
