Men’s Indoor Track & Field Results From Rider/Lafayette Invitational

    BRONX, N.Y.  (February 14, 2014) – The Rutgers men’s indoor track & field team opened the weekend at the Rider/Lafayette Invitational on Friday with junior D’Andre Jordan (Brooklyn, N.Y.), sophomore Rajee Dunbar (Arlington, Va.) and redshirt junior Corey Crawford (Oakland, N.J.) all earning IC4A qualifying times in the 200m.

    Jordan led the Rutgers contingent in the 200m by taking seventh with a personal best of 21.95 and besting his previous top time by .03 seconds from his finish at the Rutgers Invitational in early January.  Dunbar crossed the finish immediately after to place eighth in a time of 21.98, while Crawford finished in 11th in 22.07.

    The Scarlet Knights also had top 10 times in the 1000m and 60m hurdles.  Senior Steve Burkholder (Marlton, N.J.) claimed fourth in the 1000m with his time of 2:31.08, while senior Curtis Richburg (West Orange, N.J.) finished in sixth place, recording a time of 2:32.74.  In the 60m hurdles, freshman Brennan Crowle (Endwell, N.Y.) came in ninth in 8.63.

    In the field events, RU placed four in the top 10, including a pair in the high jump. Sophomores Ryan North (Mayetta, N.J.) and Mike Stafford (Neptune, N.J.) each cleared a height of 1.99m in the high jump, placing sixth and eighth respectively. 

    Sophomore Emeka Eze (Sayreville, N.J.) registered a fourth place distance in the long jump at 6.93m and freshman Bryan Pearson (Mt. Bethel, Pa.) reached 15.34m in the shot put to take eighth.

    The Rutgers men’s indoor track and field team closes out the weekend at the 107th running of the Millrose Games, one of track and field’s most prestigious annual events.
