PISCATAWAY, N.J. (January 29, 2014) – The Rutgers men’s indoor track and field team is back in action this weekend at the Metropolitan Championships at the NYC Armory.
Last season, the Scarlet Knights placed second at the championships, including five event victories with junior Kadeem Douse (Ewing, N.J.) winning the 60m (6.98) and junior D’Andre Jordan (Brooklyn, N.Y.) taking home the 400m title (49.26).
In addition to winning the 400m, Jordan also placed second in the 200m (22.35) while sophomore Emeka Eze (Sayreville, N.J.) placed third in the event (22.45).
Other top performances from last year included a second place showing by sophomore Rajee Dunbar (Sayreville, N.J.) in the 400m (49.41), as well as seventh place finish in the 200m (22.53), and senior Karon Purcell (East Windsor, N.J.) adding to RU’s point total with a fifth place finish in the 800m (1:55.38).
Following this weekend’s Metropolitan Championships, the Rutgers men’s indoor track and field squad will take part in the Rider/Lafayette Invitational on Friday, Feb. 14.
