PISCATAWAY, N.J. (January 22, 2014) – The Rutgers men’s indoor track & field team is back in action on Saturday, January 25 at the Terrier Classic hosted by Boston University.
The Scarlet Knights are coming off a ninth place finish with eight top ten performances at last weekend’s Great Dane Invitational.
RU was led by junior D’Andre Jordan (Brooklyn, N.Y.) who captured a pair of IC4A qualifying times with a fifth place finish in the 400m (48.58) and as a member of the fourth place 4x400 relay team (3:16.95). Joining Jordan on the 4x400 squad were senior Corey Caidenhead (Bergenfield, N.J.), sophomore Rajee Dunbar (Arlington, Va.), and freshman Jermaine Griffith (Hamilton, N.J.).
Other top ten times at the Great Dane Invite for the Scarlet Knights included sophomore Kyle Holder (Randolph, N.J.) with a seventh place finish in the 500m (1:05.52), senior Karon Purcell (East Windsor, N.J.) taking sixth in the 800m (1:56.18) and senior Curtis Richburg (West Orange, N.J.) crossing the finish line in 10th in the 1000m (2:31.03).
Rutgers also placed three Scarlet Knights in the top ten in field events, led by sophomore Ryan North (Mayetta, N.J.) at seventh in the long jump (6.73m) and ninth in the high jump (1.94m). Freshman Bryan Pearson (Mount Bethel, Pa.) took 10th in the shot put with a throw of 14.39m.
Following the Terrier Classic, the Rutgers men’s indoor track & field team returns to action at the Metropolitan Championships on Friday, Jan. 31 at the Armory in New York.
