PISCATAWAY, N.J. (April 29, 2012) – The Rutgers men’s and women’s track and field teams wrapped up weekend competition at the 118th running of the Penn Relays. The women’s squad also sent several student-athletes to the Lions Invitational on the campus of TCNJ.
At the Penn Relays, the Rutgers men placed third in the 4x400-meter relay (IC4A) as Steve Werner (Newtown Sq., Pa.), Corey Crawford (Oakland, N.J.), Corey Caidenhead (Bergenfield, N.J.) and Kevin Brown (Woodbury, N.J.) ran a time of 3:09.12.
Kevin Bostick (Englewood, N.J.) finished seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 49’6.25” (15.09m), while Tyrone Putman (Ft. Washington, Md.) placed 10th with a mark of 46’11.75’ (14.32m).
On the women’s side, Nwamaka Okobi (Freeport, N.Y.) placed third in the long jump with a mark of 19’3.25” (5.87m). She also competed in the triple jump, finishing sixth with a leap of 39’3.75” (11.98m).
At the Lions Invitational, Victoria Clark (Camden, N.J.) finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.20, while Danai Lendor (Lawrenceville, N.J.) placed third in 1:06.26.
Shatal Athill (Montclair, N.J.) placed third (first among collegiates) in the long jump with a mark of 17’7” (5.36m). Felicia O’Donnell (Franklinville, N.J.) was fifth in the 800-meter run and third among collegiates with a time of 2:15.51
