WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (March 26, 2012) – The Rutgers men’s track and field team competed at the 17th Annual Season Opener on the campus of Monmouth University on Saturday, March 24. The meet featured over 1,900 competitors from 35 schools and 12 club teams.
The Scarlet Knights posted individual victories in three events, led by Curtis Richburg (West Orange, N.J.), Kevin Bostick (Englewood, N.J.) and Pat Gray (East Windsor, N.J.). Richburg won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.05, while Bostick and Gray won the high jump and pole vault, respectively. Bostick placed first in the high jump, clearing the bar at 6’7” (2.01m) and Gray took first in the pole vault, clearing a height of 14’ 5.25” (4.40m)
Freshman Kadeem Douse (Ewing, N.J.) placed second (first among collegiates) in the 100-meter dash, clocking a time of 11.18.
Rutgers will return to action on April 6 for the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Va.
