Rutgers Downs Connecticut, 6-1, In Season Home Opener |
| PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Rutgers women’s tennis team
(2-0, 1-0 BIG EAST) opened its 2003 home slate on Sunday, defeating Connecticut,
6-1, inside the Rutgers Tennis Center. After sweeping all three doubles matches,
RU took five of six singles bouts to win convincingly, notching its first BIG
EAST win of the season. |

| BETHLEHEM, PA -- The Rutgers women’s tennis team
opened its 2003 dual season with a convincing 6-1 victory over Lehigh on Thursday
afternoon. The Scarlet Knights won all three doubles matches and took five of
six singles matches to move to 1-0 on the season, while dropping the Mountain
Hawks to 0-1. |

| FLUSHING MEADOWS, NY – The Rutgers women’s tennis
team dropped two matches at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships
this weekend, losing to Cornell, 4-1, and George Washington, 4-3. The women played
at both the U.S. National Tennis Center and the Columbia University Tennis Courts
due to inclement weather throughout the weekend. |

team wrapped up day two of the Eastern Collegiate Tennis Championships on Saturday,
enjoying a successful day overall. Three Scarlet Knight players reached the
final round of their respective singles brackets in the weekend tournament,
hosted by Army. |

| WEST POINT, NY – The Rutgers women’s tennis
team opened its fall season on Friday at the Eastern Collegiate Tennis Championships
hosted by Army. Head coach Marian Rosenwasser’s squad had a successful
first day with two doubles teams and two singles players reaching the quarterfinals
of the 25-team tournament. |
