Warner guided the women to a 4-3 record in dual meet competition in 2002-03 and a second place finish in the weekend’s conference championships. The honor is the second in Warner’s six-year tenure at the helm of the women’s program. He received the award at the conclusion of the 1999-00 season.
RU’s second-place finish in the 2003 BIG EAST Championships marked the third time in the past four years the women have finished in the runner-up spot. They also broke six BIG EAST records in the three-day meet. Last season, Warner led the Scarlet Knights to a 29th national ranking at the conclusion of the season and currently are 25th in the national polls.
Since becoming the fifth head coach of the Rutgers men’s and women’s swimming programs at the beginning of the 1997-98 season, Warner owns a 38-20 (.655) record in dual meet competition.
Virginia Tech’s Ned Skinner was named the men’s BIG EAST coach of the year.
