MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Senior Sean Smith (Oklahoma City, OK) concluded his 2004-05 season at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, which wrapped up on Sunday, March 26, in Minneapolis, MN.
Smith competed in the 500 freestyle, finishing 29th in the preliminary round (4:22.66), and the 400 individual medley, finishing 30th in the prelims (3:56.07).
Smith had a standout performance at the BIG EAST Championships where he took home Most Outstanding Swimmer honors. Smith set two new BIG EAST records (500 free, 400 IM) and helped the 800 free relay team finish first place in school record time. He was also third in the 200 butterfly.
Last year, Smith redshirted after suffering a shoulder injury, but recovered in time to participate in the 2004 Olympic Trials, where he swam in the 400 IM, 400 freestyle and 200 butterfly.
