Harrigan Earns All-America Swimming Honors at NCAA Championships

  • WEST LAFAYETTE, IN – Junior Kelly Harrigan (Bristol, CT) finished sixth in the 200 backstroke at the 2005 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, with concluded on Saturday, March 19, at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN.

    Harrigan’s sixth place finished earned her All-America honors for the third consecutive season. Last season, she was fifth in the 200 back and was 10th in the event as a freshman, attaining honorable mention All-America status. In the preliminary round, Harrigan swam in 1:55.85 to finish in eight place, and came back in the finals to post a time of 1:55.81.

    Harrigan also competed in the 100 backstroke, finishing in 19th place in the preliminary round (54.76), and 100 butterfly, placing 22nd in the preliminary round with a time of 54.19.
