Junior Sean Smith (Oklahoma City, OK) won the 1650-yard freestyle event on Sunday, with a time of 15:37.79.
Sophomore Josh Van Norman (San Diego, CA) swam the 200-yard backstroke in 1:51.41 to lead the Scarlet Knights in the B final.
Junior Matt Campbell (Haddonfield, NJ) led RU in the 100-yard freestyle event, placing fourth in the A final with a time of 45.88. Sophomore Ivan Morse (Pleasanton, CA) and senior Mike Kush (Wescosville, PA) finished the A final sixth and seventh respectively.
The 200-yard breaststroke event saw junior Nathan Ilnicki (Crescent, PA) garner top honors in the B final with a time of 2:07.72.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Kush, Campbell, Ilnicki and Morse finished second in the event with a time of 3:01.65.
Senior Matt Haibach (Pittsford, NY) placed fifth in the A final of the 200-yard butterfly for the men with a time of 1:52.70.
On the women’s side, junior Casmera Wick (Longmont, CO) led all swimmers in the 100-yard freestyle event with a time of 51.68. Sophomore Ruth Nichols (Raleigh, NC) recorded a time of 52.56 in the event to finish fourth.
Fresh off her victory in the 100-yard-backstroke on Saturday, freshman Kelly Harrigan (Bristol, CT) took first place honors in the 200-yard backstroke event with a time of 1:59.34.
Senior Andrea Miller (White Plains, NY) placed second in the A final of the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:06.78.
In the 200-yard freestyle, freshman Katie Kuczmarkski (Wilmington, DE) came in third in the A final, swimming the event in 2:21.89.
The women’s 400-yard freestyle relay team of Harrigan, Wick, junior Samantha Caetano (Alameda, CA) and sophomore Molly Jones (Lodi, CA) placed third, recording a time of 3:31.39.
Rutgers will be back in action next Friday-Sunday, Dec. 13-15, as it hosts the Holiday Classic inside the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center in Piscataway, NJ.
