COLLEGE STATION, TX – Sophomore Kelly Harrigan (Bristol, CT) and senior Casmera Wick (Longmont, CO) each competed on the opening day of the 2004 NCAA Division I Swimming Championships on Thursday in College Station, TX.
Harrigan placed 37th in the 400-meter freestyle during preliminary competition, swimming the race in 4:12.50. Harrigan who earned All-America status last season as a freshman, will be back in action on Friday, swimming in the 100-meter backstroke. She will wrap up her competition on Saturday in the 200-meter backstroke.
Wick finished 60th overall in her lone race on Thursday, the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 26.09. Wick will swim in two more events during the three-day competition, competing in the 100-meter backstroke on Friday and the 100-meter freestyle on Saturday.
Both Harrigan’s and Wick’s times were the school’s fastest marks recorded in meters in their respective events.
