MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. (March 20, 2014) – Senior Nicole Scott (Toronto, Canada) opened the 2014 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships for Rutgers, as the diving captain competed in the 1-meter dive Thursday at the Minnesota Aquatic Center.
Scott finished the day with a score of 235.60 in the prelims. The senior resumes competition in the championships tomorrow with the 3-meter dive. Prelims are slated for 11 a.m. CST and finals will begin at 7 p.m. CST. Scott wraps up her final campaign on Saturday, March 22, with the platform event.
Sophomore Joanna Wu (Kent, Wash.), RU’s lone swimmer at NCAAs, will participate in her first event of the championships tomorrow at 11 a.m., local time, with the 100 yard backstroke. Finals will take place in the evening session at 7 p.m. Wu will also compete in the 200 backstroke. Both the trials and prelims of the 200 back are slated for Saturday, March 22.
