Kyle Brostrand enters his 12th year on the Rutgers Sports Health staff in 2025.
In his primary role as Assistant Director of Athletic Training, Brostrand oversees the medical care for the Scarlet Knights men’s soccer program. Brostrand also serves as Coordinator of Concussion Management & Research for the Sports Health department.
As the athletic trainer for men's soccer, Brostrand manages the rehabilitation and injury prevention needs for the team year-round. He is certified in Myofascial Decompression, Graston and Blood Flow Restriction rehabilitation techniques.
In his role as Coordinator of Concussion Management, he is responsible for organizing and overseeing current return to play and return to learn protocols for all Rutgers student-athletes who may sustain a concussion. He also provides clinical care and rehabilitation services for athletes with prolonged symptoms following concussions. He is involved in several research studies and is an active member in the Big Ten - Ivy League Traumatic Brain Injury Research Collaboration.
Prior to his time at Rutgers, Brostrand worked as a graduate assistant with the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League during the 2013-2014 regular and postseason.
Brostrand received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Rutgers University (2012) and a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from Seton Hall University (2014).
Originally from Runnemede, N.J., Kyle currently resides in Somerset, N.J., with his wife, Amy, and their son, Beau.
