Medical Staff
The Rutgers University Sports Medicine Staff provides year-round care to the university’s student-athletes, including injuries, illnesses, rehabilitation, and/or other personal issues affecting one’s physical or mental status. In order to provide such comprehensive medical care, the Sports Medicine Department maintains a full-time, on-site Team Physician, who is assisted by a part-time Team Physician, two Orthopedic Surgeons, one Sports Medicine Fellow, and a Physician Extender.

Athletic Trainers
The Rutgers University Sports Medicine Staff is comprised of ten full-time and two intern, licensed certified athletic trainers who are committed to providing the highest quality of healthcare to more than 900 student-athletes. The athletic trainers are involved in all aspects that affect the student-athletes’ health, safety, and well-being. They are able to effectively accomplish this through their communication and cooperation with the Team Physician, coaches, the strength and conditioning staff, and other medical consultants.
