WILMINGTON, N.C. - After its first two rounds, Rutgers men's golf sits in eighth at the Seahawk Intercollegiate in Wilmington, North Carolina. Junior Toks Pedro leads the Scarlet Knights with a two-under-par 142 (73-69), tied for third at the end of Sunday's action.
With one round left to play, Kent State leads the field with four-under-par 572 (291 -281). Richmond is in second, while Rhode Island rounds out the top-three team scores.
After he carded a one-over-par 73 in the first round, Pedro produced an impressive three-under-par 69 to secure his position at the top of the leaderboard. Pedro sunk eight birdies during his first two rounds and contributed 22 birdies.
Sophomore Matthew Mourin is tied for 24th with an eight-over-par 152 (81-71). Mourin rebounded from his first round performance with a one-under-par 71 in the second round, as he also added 22 biridies during Sunday'd action.
Junior Matt Holuta is tied for 33rd after two rounds (155:80-75), while junior Jack Panagos (166:81-85) and freshman Tony Jiang (174:86-88) rounded out the team scorecard and are tied for 69th and 76th, respectively. Panagos generated 21 pars during his first two rounds, the third most for a Scarlet Knight.
Sophomore Matthew Walsh competed as an individual and is 75th (173:84 89).
Rutgers tees off tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. ET for the third and final round.
