Rutgers Announces Football Gameday Themes and Ticket Promotion Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers Athletics released its promotional schedule and gameday themes for the 2017 football season at High Point Solutions Stadium, it was announced Monday.

The Scarlet Knights open their home schedule with the "War Before the Shore" on Friday, Sept. 1 against Washington. Fans are encouraged to come out and support RU prior to heading down the Jersey Shore for Labor Day Weekend, with the first 5,000 fans in attendance receiving a commemorative "War Before the Shore" beach towel. RU's game with the Huskies will also be Youth Football Day.

The Sept. 9 contest against Eastern Michigan serves as Outstanding Student Day and Summer Reading Day. Rutgers will pay homage to members of the Armed Forces on Military Appreciation Day on Saturday, Sept. 16 when it hosts Morgan State.

RU's first Big Ten home game on Saturday, Sept. 30 against Ohio State will be Parent-Family weekend, while homecoming takes place on Oct. 21 against Purdue. The game will also serve as Band and Teacher Appreciation Day.

Rutgers takes on Maryland at Yankee Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 4, as part of the "Battle in the Bronx" doubleheader with the wrestling program. The Scarlet Knights close out the home campaign on Saturday, Nov. 25 with Senior Day against Michigan State.

Mini-plans and single-game tickets will go on sale to Rutgers season ticket holders prior to being made available to the general public.

This season, fans have the option of purchasing either the standard three-game mini plan or the homecoming mini plans.

Three-Game Mini Plan
Choose one from each group:
Group A: Ohio State (Sept. 30) or Washington (Sept. 1)

Group B: Eastern Michigan (Sept. 9), Morgan State (Sept. 16), or Purdue (Oct. 21)
Group C: Maryland (Nov. 4) or Michigan State (Nov. 25)

Pricing for the three-game mini plan are as follows. Lower sideline (sections 101, 109, 122, 130) tickets will cost $279 per seat upper sideline tickets will cost $225 per seat, while tickets in the lower endzone will cost $195 per seat.

Homecoming Mini Plan
Choose one from each group:

Group A: Purdue (Oct. 21)
Group B: Michigan State (Nov. 25) or Maryland (Nov. 4)
Group C: Washington (Sept. 1), Eastern Michigan (Sept. 9), or Morgan State (Sept. 16)

Pricing for the homecoming mini plan are as follows. Lower sideline (sections 101, 109, 122, 130) tickets will cost $225 per seat, upper sideline tickets will cost $165 per seat, while tickets in the lower endzone will cost $120 per seat.

The 2017 mini-plans will go on sale to Rutgers season ticket holders from Monday, May 29 through Friday, June 2. Sales will begin at 9 a.m. on each day based on the below priority points (as of April 30, 2017) schedule. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Plans will go on sale to the public on Monday, June 5.
