NOTRE DAME, IN – Rutgers softball head coach Pat Willis reached the 600-win plateau on Sunday, May 4, when the Scarlet Knights shut out Notre Dame, 2-0, in Notre Dame, IN.
Willis, who has served as Rutgers’ head coach for 24 seasons, reached 600 wins in style as her Scarlet Knights upset the BIG EAST’s top team for the milestone win. RU’s 2-0 victory came in the first game of the season’s final doubleheader.
Willis concluded the 2003 campaign with a final overall record of 26-23, including an 8-12 mark in the BIG EAST. During her Rutgers career, Willis' record is 600-456-7. She has compiled three 30-win seasons and 19 seasons with 20 or more wins during her tenure, while the Scarlet Knights have been under .500 only four times in those 24 years.
