PISCATAWAY, N.J. (March 4, 2013) – The BIG EAST Conference named junior outfielder Loren Williams (Los Angeles, Calif.) to its weekly honor roll, the conference announced. Williams led the Rutgers softball team to a 4-1 record at the Patriot Classic, hitting .400 (8-20) with a home run, five runs scored and three RBIs.

Williams, the Scarlet Knights’ leading hitter through 10 games, hit safely in all but one game in Fairfax, Va., recording two three-hit games in the process.

She notched her first long ball of the season in a 3-4 effort against Rider, which RU took, 10-0, in five innings of play. Against Cornell, Williams went 3-5 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs.

The BIG EAST Conference selected to Williams to its Weekly Honor Roll in its second poll of the season after RU posted a 2-3 mark at the UTSA Classic in San Antonio, Texas.
