PISCATAWAY, N.J. (May 17, 2012) – Rutgers softball senior third baseman Brittney Lindley (Cicero, N.Y.) earned a spot on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Mideast Region Second Team, the organization announced Thursday. Lindley led the Scarlet Knights in 10 offensive categories, helping RU to its third-straight BIG EAST Championship appearance – a feat RU had yet to accomplish since joining the conference.
Lindley paced the Scarlet Knights offensively during the 2012 campaign, hitting at a .336 clip, with a .597 slugging percentage and a .480 on-base percentage. She tallied team highs in doubles (12), home runs (seven) and RBI (28). The senior ranks in the top-three in six offensive categories in RU’s career record book, including first in home runs (34).
This marks the third-straight NFCA All-Region Team selection for Lindley, who was named to the first team in 2011. The third baseman was also selected to the All-BIG EAST Third Team this season.
