April-28-04 RU Softball and Delaware End Nightcap in 4-4 Tie
PISCATAWAY, NJ – In its final home games of the season on April 28, the Rutgers softball team (23-27-1) dropped game one of a doubleheader with Delaware (25-19-1), 4-2, and game two ended in a 4-4 tie after seven innings when the umpires called the game due to darkness.

April-24-04 Black's Shutout Helps Rutgers Split With Syracuse
PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers senior Leah Black (Rocky River, OH) pitched her third shutout of the year in game two of a doubleheader with Syracuse on April 24 to help the RU softball team (23-24; 6-8 BIG EAST) split with the Orangewomen (19-21; 3-5 BIG EAST). Prior to Rutgers’ 4-0 win, Syracuse was victorious in game one, 7-1.

April-21-04 Softball Splits With Monmouth
WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ - The Rutgers softball team (22-23) extended its win steak to four games following a 6-0 win over Monmouth (14-16) in game one of a doubleheader on April 21, but lost a late-inning lead in game two in its bid to sweep the Hawks, falling 4-3 in the nightcap.

April-18-04 Childress, Black Lead Rutgers Softball to a Sweep of Boston College
PISCATAWAY, NJ - Senior Nikki Childress (Roanoke, VA) went 5-for-7 with a home run, five RBI and two runs scored and senior Leah Black (Rocky River, OH) recorded a pair of victories as the Rutgers softball team (21-22; 5-7 BIG EAST) swept a doubleheader from Boston College (25-19; 5-7), 3-1 in game one and 9-3 in game two, on April 18.

April-17-04 Rutgers Earns Split With UConn
PISCATAWAY, NJ - Freshman Jessica Crosby (Sedro-Woolley, WA) pitched her second consecutive complete-game shutout as the Rutgers softball team (19-22; 3-7 BIG EAST) defeated Connecticut (17-17; 2-6 BIG EAST), 5-0, in game two of a doubleheader on April 17. UConn was victorious in game one 2-0.

April-16-04 RU Softball Hosts a Pair of Conference Foes in Key BIG EAST Games
PISCATAWAY, NJ - After handing BIG EAST leader Villanova its first conference loss of the season last weekend, the Rutgers softball team (18-21; 2-6 BIG EAST) returns to league play looking to climb up in the conference standings when it hosts Connecticut (16-16; 1-5 BIG EAST) on Saturday, April 17, and Boston College (24-16; 4-4 BIG EAST) on Sunday, April 18. Both doubleheaders begin at noon.

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Freshman pitcher Jessica Crosby (Sedro-Woolley, WA) earned her first career win as the Rutgers softball team split a doubleheader with Rider on Thursday afternoon at the RU Softball Complex.

April-10-04 RU Softball Hands Villanova Its First Conference Loss
PISCATAWAY, NJ - Senior Brielle Cosentino (Carlstadt, NJ) hurled a three-hit shutout in Rutgers’ 1-0 win over BIG EAST leader Villanova (16-13; 7-1 BIG EAST) on April 10 to spoil the Wildcats’ perfect conference record. In game one, Nova defeated the Scarlet Knights (17-20; 2-6 BIG EAST) 9-2.
